In this a short or long action?

It is a long action, magnum bolt face. I was going to chamber it for a .264 Win mag

This is a great combination of parts for sure. I have the same parts with the Shot action and chambered in 6.5 SST. The GRB is really a great action and matched with a Proof barrel makes for a shooter for sure. Someone will be quite pleased with this combination.

dosent look like much taper to that barrel, whats the OD on the barrel at the reciver, dosent look like much metal for threading at the muzzle for threading for a brake, how much meal from the carbon wrap to the end of the muzzle.

What's the bottom metal inlet?

Bottom metal is for the Gunwerks BM, You can use a 700 BDL with a thick washer on the back, I have several like this. Gunwerks are $250---so I use a 700 BDL. Gunwerks looks sexier though.

This is a full bull barrel--- strait taper-or no taper. (call it either way) 1.20" at receiver, all the way to muzzle.
Plenty of room to thread- metal is about an inch, just like any other Proof Carbon. No different here. The break is about 3.5" long ! Second pic is one I have in 6.5 Creed--no recoil --That's HS-Precision Ranger stock. Good reference pic to show size of break.
