Some military specifications are much higher than normal. One of my favourite bits was a senate hearing where they were asking an Admiral why the ashtrays on his Carrier were $400 each. He took a large hammer and hit the $400 ashtray, it broke in two, he did the same to an identical looking regular ashtray, it shattered into thousands of pieces. He asked the senator, which would you rather have on your table when a bomb goes off. They decided it was time for a break.
