Would like some input. Pelican, Bear Track, Starlight, Cabelas Bullet Proof. Which case. Have a trip planned to Africa and have heard my buddies horror stories. I have a lot of money and time put into my rifle and want to get her there unscathed. Anyone who has traveled across the pond who has had great results with a case?

I have a Starlight and love it. Been on 2 trips to Newfoundland with it (From CA). There used to be some threads where there was a contact for the owner of Starlight. They sold some cases at a discount that had been returned because of hinges or wheel problems. So you got a good deal on one with the only problem being an external part that was fixed.

I found mine being sold on another site so I never called Starlight.

Akiona. What other cases have u tried. What makes the ICC so much better. I looked them up and they definatley look like a solid product. Appreciate your help.

This case is bullet proof and the one I used to haul two rifles to Wyoming from VA. Flew to Chicago and changed planes - this means the case probably took a beating.....

Cabela's: SKB Multi-Gun Cases

I've got one too, but the roto-molded one they make is better.
As noted, if I ever fly with rifles instead of drive I'll upgrade.
The extra $100 is worth it.

My Russian telescope, worth more than any of my rifles, lives in a Pelican case.

My bass guitar lives in an SKB case.

My best rifles cases are ADG Sports, but they aren't going to Africa, they just ride around in my truck. The ADG case is much lighter than Pelican or SKB, but not as strong. It is airline rated, and looks better than Pelican or SKB.

If you can afford a trip to Africa, you can at least afford a Pelican or SKB case. Your porter/guide will be hauling your gear around, so the extra weight shouldn't bother you.

I'm sure there is something lighter and stronger out there at an astronomical price, such as kevlar or something.
