Good Grouse numbers up here in Alberta

Good Grouse numbers up here with us seeing 234 Ruffed/Spruce/10 Sharp-tail(not hunt able in my area) /no Blue ...Sept 1 to Jan 15 2018 ... we got 143 with partners (82 myself included in total)

I never made it out for ruffies this past fall.

Hi Cow Town Bill

hey we were hunting Mill cutting roads and bush roads

but were spending most time on roads with south facing ditches

we also don't look on the roads but into the bush along them

by looking into the under brush & openings up to 40 yards in

we were catching them roosting or feeding/sunning them self's

we drive about as slow as you can go ..4x4 low range 1st gear

this enhances the time and view you get

that allows your computer mind to pick out shape/colors/movement

as always this is

Have you been out this fall, Dave? I just got back from a few days west of Sundre. Weather conditions were poor but did get two ruffies. Will try again when conditions improve.

Still great numbers up here we have been out 4 times n seen 60 Grouse n got 32 so far

saw 10 Snow shoe hare too n got 7 that day

Great Year 2018 … saw 259 so far this year .. with 5 days with 20 or more Grouse saw .. we have got 149 with partners

yes lots n Grouse are up seen 328 grouse this year so far mainly Ruffed Grouse .. how it down there
