Do you think shooting hammers will extend barrel life? If I remember correctly the swift was a barrel burning round!
And some vehicles were made to do burnouts at every red light!Barrels are like tires on your truck. They were out you replace them
Ok, I am very interested. I have a 220 Swift that shoots a 40Gr TSX at just over 4300.Everyone knows I live on the borderline and I push everything including myself to the absolute, so after the 25 cals and the 30 cals with the Mule I'm gonna go back to where I started with the 22 calibers .
The 220 Swift and I have killed a many deer back in the day and everyone knows that light and fast is my MO so with that being said and after some discussion with my peers I'm off and running with an old wildcat that will with any luck and Hammer's will make a 500 yard lightning stick.
22X63 AI ( 22-06AI) is what's on the menu, Early {No Prefix } Rem700 action worked over with an M16 extractor , 27" Bartlein 7 twist 5R contour tube {Suppressed }
Trigger Tech 2 stage, McMillian Game Warden Carbon { Mag Fill ) toping it off with an Arken EP5.
As I am out of the machine shop I had Jay Cutright {Marshall Illinois} do this build, this is the second rig he has done for me and I will highly recommend him if anyone needs a smith
The quest is to push the 51g AH to 5K, I'm not sure but I think it should be a fairly flat round

Barrel life never enters my thoughts, in the grand scheme of things barrels are the cheapest part of what we are doingDo you think shooting hammers will extend barrel life? If I remember correctly the swift was a barrel burning round!
I reacted with the laughing face. Not in mockery…just dang that's a funny looking round right there! All the best!Everyone knows I live on the borderline and I push everything including myself to the absolute, so after the 25 cals and the 30 cals with the Mule I'm gonna go back to where I started with the 22 calibers .

Pun intended?Looks like a fun project - high speed 224s are always a blast to shoot.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could go to the KRIEGER or BARTLIEN and pick up any barrel you want like you can pick up a set of tires at Discount Tires or GoodYearBarrels are like tires on your truck. They were out you replace them
There's no need for that kind of profanity in this threadAnd I was expecting a 6.5 CM build!
In all seriousness, please keep us posted, it'll be interesting to see this monster develop.
BB: so are you going to have a "velocity pool" to guess top end? I think someone has done that before.4,580 fps is my estimate.
