ok I know this is maybe a long shot, but would any one here have any experience with old gatling guns/
I have a set of barrels off one, and NO clue as to what model there from, no real good info on barrels to help either.
I have 10 barrels, there 28 inches long, 6 sided octagon set back about 2 inches from muzzle end, 0.75 dia at taper before octagon, and 1.25 dia just before treads on bore end
I THINK there stainless steel, and say that as half have a stainless polished like finish, and others don't, more a very dull matte gray like finish
there HEAVY, all 10 together maybe about 70+ lbs
as for bore dia? that's where the problem begin's
bores are in poor shape, slightly out of round, rusty, and well, shot out so to speak, used barrels here out of a machine gun like gun
rifling in bores is still mostly there, but its rusty and weak like
the ONLY markings on the barrels is as in the pic's below, each barrel has a number on it, 1 thru 10, and for what ever reason it won't let me add pic's here??

I would love to know what there from, and heck IF they have any value AS IS< which I know there in so so condition, but never know with things/
as I would hate to toss them if there worth any thing, but as is, I don't just don't know, or really see any LOL

SO< if anyone has any clue or thoughts please share, or if they know who might know, all the better, I can email pic's
as for what ever reason, this site won't let me add pic's??
so sorry for no pic;'s here, but again if anyone can maybe help me, PM me and I can email pic's, or if anyone would be willing to post pic's here for me, I can email them pic's to add here??

I am NOT that computer smart?? and not sure why I cannot get pic's on this site?

6 sided octagon

Under any other circumstances, we would call that shape a Hexagon for 6-sided.

Like this?

Copy the 'url' of the picture, then select the button at the top of the message frame which has a mountain and the sun on it. When selected, it will open a new frame where you paste the 'url' and then select 'insert'.

barrels are very similar to those, only the tips on mine have a 1 inch round tips, then the Hexagon starts, as on them
I did find out one of the stamping's on the barrels is a COLT trade mark, and still guessing the number on them is the order on the gun they get positioned, then the last marking I have NO clue on?

and all the colt guns I can find any info on have barrels longer then these, so, NOT sure on things based on that info I found
mine are only 28 OAL, and most all are 30 to 32 inches?

might have found a way to add a pic or two, seems this site won't work with me logging in thru AOL?, NO clue why, buy will NOT let me add any pic's if I do so.

so here are a few pictures of a barrel, , I have 10 in all, and some in slightly better shape and some in way worse condition than this one?
would love to know what gun there from and or if there worth anything and if so, How much? like a ball park just??

Hello,
I cannot help you directly but I would suggest contacting Mike Clark at Collectors Guns in Houston Texas. He is a walking encyclopedia on old era firearms.
