Can somebody help me narrow down 35 calls for a new caller, to many to choose from. Im in centeral KS. I need to get a good baseline.

Pup in distress, I like the woodpecker and rabbit distress. Just get different sounds and start playing with it. The pup in distress has done really well for me especially in the spring.

Go to FoxPro's web site an listen to those sounds .
My favorites are the :
#1-prairie dog distress
#2-coyote female long howl
#3-coyote pup distress
they seems to get the most consistent results for me. In my area the coyotes get a lot of hunting pressure so I think getting away from the standard rabbit distress and trying something that the coyotes hear less often is better.
