I found this sako at the store for $999. It is in fantastic condition. I definitely can't buy it but it was nice to drool over it.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how old it is with the info in the picture?

Not the exact date but believe the marking places it between 1971 and 1978.

That serial number and the stamping under the barrel as a Garcia import place the date between 74-77. Sako was known to not complete consecutive rifles in order of serial number. You did not state the caliber, some were more produced than others. That date would say 30-06, 270,7RM. They are all fine shooters and very slick actions.

It was a .30-06 with a 24.xx" barrel. It looked like it had a very nice bedding job done. What a nice piece that would be to have!

Sako's of that era did not need to be bedded. They shot great as is. Bedding ruined the value of that rifle.
