Has anyone tried Field Optics Research's FM-200 Picatinny Rail Mount? I hunt steep canyon country, so any bipod has to be >24" to be worthwhile. I've been using a VersaPod Model 3 bipod, which has sufficiently long legs to shoot downhill or across canyon while sitting. Since I always carry a Manfrotto BeFree tripod and Meopta MeoStar S2 spotting scope in my backpack, I'm thinking I could save some weight replace the bipod with the tripod plus this FM-200 adapter. The Meopta has a Manfrotto RC2 mounting plate built in, so I'd like to stick with that standard rather than use an Arca-Swiss adapter. Thoughts? Any better option out there?
