Took my smallest, lightest shooting system with the heaviest Hammer Bullet I currently have, 154 Hammer HHT (tipless in order to fit in the mag) and went for a stroll. Pigs rolled up on me less than 15 yards. A piglet scented me and ran off taking the sounder with her. They wondered off to about 130 yards when I finally got a lucky shot.
Low slightly quartering away shot anchored this fat sow. Without the tip the bullet quickly shed its petals just after passing the thick hide. The first shoulder was fine. The internal organs were jello and the opposing shoulder was shattered. When I cut into the entry side you could see the typical triangle pattern of the shank and petals doing its job.
This was a fun hunt. Taking some prototypes for my 6.5 Grendel and 7 Valk out to S. Texas Thanksgiving week.
