I am new to this sport of shooting with rifles so this may sound like a dumb question to some. I am purchasing a savage rifle and am mounting a 30mm tube scope on it and would like to use the Farrel base but do not understand what moa base I should go with. IF anyone can explain this I would be greatful. Thanks

Depends on what caliber, scope and how far you will shoot. But for most cases the 20 MOA will do you just fine. The 30 and 40 MOA bases are typically for ranges longer than 1000 yards.
A little piece of advice- some MK4 M3s will not zero at 100 with a 20 MOA base.

Chris thanks for the info, I will be shooting the 300wsm and zero at 300yd's. Would I have any problem with the 20moa base knowing this. I live in Idaho and will be shooting max 400-500 yds for lope and deer. Once again I thank everyone for their input and help. This is a GREAT web site.
