I'm thinking about going to blackhorn 209. Should I get a new "special" breech plug or go to one that uses pistol brass??

Your current Encore breech plug will ignite BH209 with no problems.
IMO...….. stay COMPLETELY away from the pistol brass crap.
I suggest you follow the recommendations of Western and use magnum 209 primers, such as the CCI209M or the Federal 209A.
Get yourself a 1/8" drill bit for cleaning out the flash channel under the primer. TURN IT BY HAND ONLY. The 209 primers will carbon up in that flash channel and it must be cleaned. They all do. Its best to just run the bit down every 10 round or so.
Also...… breech plug flash holes wear and enlarge. I suggest having a spare. It all depends on how many rounds with an OEM plug will last before the flash hole enlarges. Some go quicker than others. Without measuring with pin gages, you can always tell when the flash hole is enlarging, because your "normal" groups will start to get larger.
I've shot many thousands of round of BH through Encore and Pro Hunters. They shoot it well.
