Well 600 yards in this area is a bit of dilemma, I know 3 maybe 4 riffle ranges in the area, but none is offering 600 yards, however I'm using one with 500 yards option, also you can go to the state land to practice like Maple Hill, or Connecticut Hill gun) I'm happy with the one for 500 yards, this riffle range offering benches with shelter set to 50, 100, 200 and 300 yards, but 500 yards is a bit tricky I can only shoot it when no one is using the range, since bullet path is above short range benches, also 500 yards bench is unsheltered, but who needs benches, just put a rug and shoot from the ground gun) Another thought, just stop at Mike's in Horseheads he will point you in the right direction, also he can get you anything you need for shooting
I was using an omish guys farm in PIKE but its a hike for me. If you find something please let us no. There is 500yards in Honeoye but the guy who owns it will only rent it to you for the day its not open to the public. LANO GROUP

Ok you can target practice and Maple Hill got very nice setup for it, I always known people target practice there and duriring hunting season there are many hunters, whish there were less. I think its about 1000 yards maybe more. The new NY State law, which got adopted on May this year stated: 10. The DEC can now prohibit target practice in specific areas by posting.
