Elk Herd in CO

Heard bull is probably really tired with a flock like that.

Or he is out with his buddies drinking a beer saying I don't want to go home "I've got a 100 women telling me what to do all day every day"

Yep. I "heard" there was a herd bull in there somewhere. Ooopppsss!

Just heading down onto private. Saw a herd of 250-300 hunting once in Colorado during rifle season. They were down early to winter grounds because of the dry summer. We took 3 bulls on the third day.

If anyone ever gets the opportunity, the winter sleigh rides at eh Jackson elk refuge is pretty neat to do. Get to see a giant herd up close. Only time I have been that close otherwise is calling them in during archery season. And I am a novice elk caller at best

I'll have 2-300 hanging on the ranch I manage, from mid September.
They're still there now. No hunting on the ranch but it's a magnificent sight to see them there.
