Getting a couple of 20 MOA rails. Narrowed it down to EGW or Talley.

Any experience or recommendations on these two options?

Yeah, I talked with them on the phone yesterday, and they seemed like great people. But likewise with Talley in the past.

I did hear one poster complain that his Talley base was not really 20 MOA, but who knows if that person was right or wrong.

When I talked with SWFA, their guy recommended EGW for my Tikka, and Talley for my Vanguard. He said the Tikka rails have worked out really well for them, but that Talley measured the Vanguard directly and have a super fit for those. That makes some sense as Talley rings are sold directly by Weatherby, but I guess EGW's are sold directly by Howa.

But I just wanted to see if there was any other feedback from anyone who has used these.

I know EGW does not use a recoil lug, which should be fine on the Tikka as it's a 260. But on the Vanguard, is a 300 wn mag....

EGW's are also sold directly by EGW..!!!

I just got a 20moa talley recently. Also have a 20moa egw. Can't tell a difference. I'm pleased with both.

Super, thanks everyone.

How hard is it to bed? I plan to shoot it unbedded first, at least on the Vanguard. The reason being that I want to test accuracy and see if it's a keeper. If it is, I will send it off to be cerakoted or maybe nitrided, have not decided which yet.

Talley looks just like the EGW HD rail but with nicely chamfered ends. My EGW rail has sharp corners and just looks cheaper. But, it was in fact cheaper. Either one will function just fine.
