Honestly I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment shooting an elk with a 6.5 creed moor with a hammer bullet. AH 123’s going 3,140 out of it would be lethal. I have a friend that has shot 2 elk with 120 TTSX bullets and had pass throughs. Shots were around the 300 mark pass through on one stopped in the far shoulder of the other. He said the outfitter stated that it was as good or better than larger calibers he had seen results from. I have a 6.5 prc coming that I’m having made and this was the setup I was going to use this year on elk. Bypassing my 7mag and 28 nosler. I have taken Texas heart shots with the 260 and 6.5 creed with the Barnes 120 tsx and I can tell you every time that the bullet exits somewhere in the front chest or shoulder every time. So that’s a lot of penetration from end to end on a deer. So the idea of using the hammer bullets which I believe are a lot lot better bullet honestly makes me excited. I believe in them so much my wife when I get home in the evening says “more Hammer bullets come fedex today”. I just smile and go shoot lol.
