Is the DTHC-115gr bullet a good hunting round for deer out to 400 yards in my 243? Does anybody know what the twist of ruger 77 mark 2 is? I understand a 7.5 to 8.0 twist is best for this bullet. thanks

The twist rate of your barrel is 1-10. I doubt the 117 will stabilize. Some people have luck with the 105 Amax.

The 115 class bullet are great on antelope at all ranges. I would not hesitate to shoot an eastern whitetail with one.

My daughter popped a whitetail @ 350 yards 2 years ago using the 115 DTAC. Buck went about 10 yards and piled up.
She was using an XP-100 specialty pistol chambered in 6-284 (basically the same a 243 rifle performance).

Barrel is an 1-8 twist Broughton 5C.

95gr Sierra MatchKings

try the 95gr MatchKings the other option is the 105gr A Max they may work.
