Drones over the woods

So my son in law has this real expensive drone and he was showing me how it works, pretty impressive. I know there has been some talk on here about the use of drones but what are your thoughts on using them for spot and stalk.

Drones are now illegal here in Arizona. I knew Az Game and Fish proposed legislation for this, but found last week this is law now. They are considered aircraft which were already illegal for hunting. Wondering how many states have outlawed them so far. I had a area I liked for elk where a drone would have been very useful to find where elk went after feeding to bed.

Dosh, that's what I'm talking about a drone would be handy where I hunt too. I mostly hunt between two wooded high ridges with a creek that runs through the middle and without snow it's hard to tell which way the deer went also a fella couldn't stalk them deer in a day.

You're right, and when I look at a photo of an Arizona Governor's tag holder's elk with 21 of his guides and helpers, where has fair chase gone? I'm too cheap to buy a drone anyway.

Drones are unethical for hunting in my view. Imagine you are just lining up a shot on the best Elk you have ever seen and some idiot fly's a drone over the spot and spooks the Elk . Drones are a menace in many ways.

This drone issue is going to get interesting. I can only imagine what will happen when they are used to spook game and flying them over someones private residence.

Yep, I figured there would be a lot of negative post here and personally I wouldn't want one buzzing over me if I was hunting.
It is not legal to use drones on PA. Game Lands. It just could be some day that you would be able to use one with a size and sound limit on it so as not to disturb anybody or the game animals.

Do you not think the TV hunting shows use UAVs to scout for animals? Of course they do ..they just edit those parts out

It is only a matter time before you are going to see micro UAVs being marketed for hunting purposes...only a matter of time....

Of course that's not fair chase and neither are drones! We need to take a look at ourselves and hold ourselves, as hunters, to a set standard of ethics. Easier said than done, I know.

That's what I'm thinking too. And then it will go the the same way Muzzleloaders and Xbows went everybody will jump on the ship.
