I have a Savage 24 (222 + 20ga combination) that I would like to gift to my father who is living in NZ. He previously was in Auckland, but is now in Paeroa. Its a much more rural area and he could have some luck with hunting some of the small game.
The rifle does not have a high intrinsic value, but I am curious what the procedures are for exporting from the US. It is basically a single shot (break action) so should not fall foul of any ITAR requirements.
What does someone in NZ need to do in order to be allowed possession of a long gun ?
Thanks for any comments
