I have for sale, a DE Shawn Carlock semi custom built 338 EDGE. Rifle was built in 2007 as my idea of the ulitmate LR packing rifle. It has fulfilled that job nicely, making 4, 1 shot DRT kills on elk at 500,550,700, and 900. 3 were with the 300g SMK at 2800fps (900,700,500) 1 was with the 250g Sierra Gameking at 550. Flat elk hammer!! Rifle is accurate, 1/2-1 MOA is typical w/300g SMK and 88-92g H1000/CCI 250/R-P/3.780" at 2825fps out to 1K laying prone w/bipod. Rings a 15" gong with boring regularity.
Rem 700 stainless BDL action (j-lock,) thats been squared, trued, and lapped.
Remington LSS stock, channel opened up to accept larger diameter bbl
HART 28" stainless/fluted, 1-10 twist, 1 contour under sendero
DE Brake 3 port
Wyatts Extended Mag box (3.780" OAL w/300g SMK)
Factory trigger at a glass like 1.75#
Bedded/floated
Barrel/receiver was bead blasted a grey finish
There is a bit of surface rust that I cant get off from water getting under the bases, cant see it with em on so shouldn't hurt, but It was an elk hunting rifle, I didn't get that particular and take the bases off to clean it after a hunt. You can see it in the pic.
Leupold VXIII, LR/T 6.5-20x50mm, 30mm tube, Side Focus, target knobs, fine duplex, silver finish, missing 1 cap. (leupold will send you one for free, just haven't got around to it) Scope has slight ring marks from the Leupold PRW rings, but scope performs and functions good as new. Butler creek flip open caps included. Small allen wrench included to loosen caps to zero.

RCBS FL die set. Orginally was a 300 RUM set, had them bored out when Shawn was still doing this. Dies work fine, have a bit of surface rust for leaving them in the shop for a winter unkowingly and the seater stem is a bit scuffed up but other then that they load accurate 338 EDGE ammo so I haven't bothered to buy a new set yet. Will throw in the RCBS shellholder as well
I've got 145 Remignton brass as well. 45 pieces I have worked the most with and they have been shot 4-5 times. They are still holding primers. I also have 73 cases have been fired 2x, and 77 cases that have been fired 1x in the 300 RUM barrel that was on before this rifle was rebarreled. It hasnt been sized up or anything.
I have about 275-300 rounds down this barrel. Just gettign good and broke in really. I never abused it, never ever got it hot, cleaned it properly with a bore guide and dewey rod w/jag.
The scope,base,rings are on my 243, the other rifle in pic, which is not for sale, but I"ll be pulling the scope and mounts off for the actual buyer. Prefer not to break up at this time.
I'd like to get $3000 shipped to your FFL, OBO. Not looking for trades. USPS MO or Cashiers Check, or FTF within a couple hundred miles, or meet in the middle on a few hundred mile trip.
