CVA 35 Whelen Chamber

New rifle. Started putting it together for the season and saw this in the chamber. I have couple of videos taken from a bore scope but having trouble getting the attached. Is bad steel, bad reamer or something else. It's only on the bottom and stops at the neck of the chambers.

Are you talking about what looks like discoloration, or what appears to be a chip?

Discoloration, I wouldn't worry about.

Try running a brush, and some patches through it and see then.

Put a red Emory cloth on a 30 cal nylon bristle brush and turn it with a drill, slowly. It will clean up just fine I bet.

Get a bottle of naval jelly and follow the instructions. Mine was the same .

CVA wanted it back. They have it now. Looks like they got it hot when they welded the lug on. Could that make a weak spot in the chamber???

Good for them tho! Better than many companies for actually being concerned about a defective product with their name on it and doing something about it! (Cough - browning - cough cough)
