Hello all i have a rem 700 LA that i have been working with to make a good 500-1000 yrd gun. I have milled an aluminum chassis that will take AR style grips and an AR buffer tube type stock. I am split between what i should chamber it in... I'm thinking a 28"-30" med palma barrel. I would like to stay with the 6.5mm thinking the 260 rem or 6.5-06.. there are just so many choices. I have a 7mm rem mag to do my heavy hunting. what are your thoughts??

I'd go w/ the 6.5x284 over the 6.5-06, or a 260ai over the 260. Then I'd take the 260ai for the added barrel life. What are your plans for this rifle?

It will just be a fun gun. something to put a lot of rounds threw and prove a few stuck up kids what accuracy really is at 500-1000 yrds. probably will end up being my deer rifle.

finally got out to shoot with the stock I milled. I think it turned out great for the first one!

My thoughts exactly. Great brass life, good velocity with the 260ai. Good job on the chassis are you going to set it up for single shot or dBm? Would you sell me one? Haha

I will probably keep the adl internal mag that came on it. I've thought about producing a couple of them but i defiantly want to make a few changes to it first.

has anyone took a short action case and set the bullet way out to make room for more powder? saw someone did that with a 338-300wsm. they where getting 2800+fps with a 250gr bullet set almost a half inch out from original.I've thought about going that rout... any others you guys would recommend?
