*SOLD!*
This is a custom Remington 700 long action chambered in .25-06. The barrel is a 25" 1:9 Shilen Select Match that is threaded 5/8x24 and has "Flatline" fluting in a #7 contour. The bolt was also diamond fluted, the bolt handle skeletonized, and an aftermarket bolt knob installed. The barreled action was then Cerakoted in graphite black, and a Timney 510 trigger was installed.
The McMillan A5 has the specs outlined in the attached photo, namely it being Sniper Fill, inletted for Badger M5 DBM, front bipod stud, four flush cups (two bottom, two left side), adjustable LOP system (spacers included) with a 1/2" Decelerator recoil pad, installed pillars, and a McCann SIRS mount inletted and installed for NV use. Colors are molded in 34% Medium Tan, 33% Dark Tan, and 33% Olive. Current bottom metal is a Hawkins Oberndorf M5 BDL, which holds 5rnds.
This rifle is a tack driver. With the 1:9 twist, you can shoot almost any .257 projectile out there. Berger's Stability Calculator shows the new-ish 131gr Ace from BlackJack as being marginally stable, but higher DAs would help quite a but there. If you plan to shoot a lot at higher altitudes, it would likely be fine. The Hornady 110gr ELD-X shot very well (3/8MOA) for the box I put through it.
Total build cost for this according to a prior owner was just north of $3100 not including the cost of the action or recoil lug. Round count is just under 250 after the box I put through it. Recoil is relatively light, and the .25-06 is supposed to hit pretty hard for how little it recoils. This would make a fantastic all-around use rifle, although it may be a bit heavy for mountain hunts.
*The bipod, stock pack, and QD sling swivels shown are not included!*
I'm asking $1750 shipped for this gorgeous rifle, or partial trade from the list below. Any questions, just ask!
