I bought this rifle last year. The next paragraph is from the original ad, from the member I bought it from here.
So, this rifle has been in my safe for 7 years. It was my first real custom gun. It was completed July/Aug 2014. It started as a Pre '64 action DOM 1953. I will have to go through some paper work but if i remember correctly, it's got a Douglas barrel on it with 9" twist. I had Eric Meitzner (retired now) from Solon Springs WI. do all the metal work, chambering, truing, etc. The stock was picked out as a blank from Accurate Innovations (www.aigunstocks.com). It's hand checkered, has ebony tip, steel grip cap, and Winchester repo red pad. I wanted this done to look somewhat period correct so it has been rust blued and has sweated on sights. I was going to chamber in 7x57 Mauser, but decided to go 7x57AI. I believe the smith shot it 3 or 5 times to verify chamber and I shot it 3 times in the yard because I had to. It is throated for 160 AB's. Now I know I have more into this rifle then what I'll get out of it but I want to test the waters and see if there is any interest. Sitting as it is, I would like to see $6000. This is definitely a niche gun and not for everyone.
I found dies and brass but never have done anything with them, every time I go to start load development I don't, just too nice. I have the dies, 100 pieces of PPU new brass, a custom Apache hard case and the scope which is a Zeiss Duralyt 2-8. This rifle is pristine, not sure of the round count but it's less than 10. I never did fire it. I'm debating trying for a slam on sheep before I lose the ability, might have to sell a few things to make it happen. I'll post more pics tomorrow.
I'm asking 4800.00 shipped for the entire package. I have quite a bit more than that into it. Feel free to ask for more pics or info.
