This is a custom sporter contour barrel. I'll try to clearly describe it.
I intended to finish it at 24 inches. You can see two black sharpie marks on it. The distance between those marks is 24 inches. If you look at the Krieger contour chart, the lengths of the sporter contour measurements will match this barrel. I had 4 inches added to the breech end of the blank because I was going to cut it off and make a die out of it. If you left that 4 inches on there this blank would finish at 28 inches.
Now the flutes. It has 10 3/16" flutes. Having 10 flutes leaves the ribs thin. I like the forend flats line up with a rib and I thought they would be to thin to look like I wanted them to look so I had Krieger leave one flute on each side short so there would be a wider rib to match up to the forend flat.
The neck diameter, the "G" measurement on the Krieger chart is .950". This is between a #5 and a #6 contour. The reason it is .950" is because that is the minimum diameter they will make a fluted 6.5mm barrel. The taper from that .950" point is .008" per inch. This will make the muzzle diameter about .806".
It is stainless steel, 8" twist, 5r rifling. I want $470 delivered.
