My life has taken me in a direction away from long range shooting, I still love it but don't get to do it much at all and I am 90% a stick and string hunter now. I just don't use this rifle, as well as a few others but first things first. I am in the middle of a farm rehab, house and all so please excuse the lack of pictures at the moment, I will get some more soon. Specs on the rifle,
Defiance Deviant tactical action, built with small flash hole and pin for the 6.5x47.
Kreiger stainless 8 twist 4 land match grade barrel, I thought is was MTU taper but they only show M24 so that must be it. I got it from southern precision rifles. Fluted by Kampfeld customs.
Manners MSC-T2A stock in custom percent color, looks mostly like the molded in woodland pattern I would say.
Jewell trigger
PTG bottom metal, includes 2 AICS mags
Kampfeld 3 post brake, barrel threaded 5/8x24.
Surgeon bolt knob
Cerakote done be Beanland customs when he built it, I told him to paint it whatever color he thought looked the best with the stock. It turned out awesome but I am not exactly sure what color he ended up using. Looks like a lighter FDE. See pictures.
I had custom dies made by whiddon gunworks for the rifles chamber, so I will include those. They produce near perfectly concentric loads when checked on my 21st century concentricity gauge. They will have my name on them, sorry didn't know they engraved them that way. But they are killer dies.
How does the rifle shoot? Well I have only ever worked up loads with RL17 and 130gr berger VLDs. And I got groups in the .3s at 100. I shot a 3 shot group at 775 yards(furthest I've stretched its legs) that measured under 4" and there was some wind to deal with. To say the rifle shoots good is an understatement. But I have not done it justice with enough load workup. It shot so well with the initial loads that I just kept with that at first. I have under 250 rounds down the pipe, Ill look through my load data for an exact number.
Always used a bore guide and carbon one piece rod to clean and no brass brushes, only nylon not very often at that. Mostly jag and patch with kroil and TM solutions. Barrel brake in was shoot and clean between shots for the first 5 rounds then ever 3 rounds for 3 groups, then it started cleaning out real easily so I went on with load workup after that.
Selling the rifle for 3000 Shipped to your FFL. That includes Dies, around 100 lapua brass, and a Pelican tan 1750 long gun case with two uncut foam sheets. I have far more into this setup and its nearly new. I built it a few years ago but have rarely used it unfortunately. Rifle is in excellent condition.
