I picked up a 30 Herrett 14" around Christmas. Just loaded a ladder for it. I'm running CCI200's Win brass, No.11FS, Hdy SST 125gr….

I loaded:

charge. Velocity
21.4. 2273
21.6. 2237
21.8. 2283
22.0. 2306
22.2. 2274
22.3. 2272
22.4. 2233
22.5. 2288

i had slight pressure sign….case extraction at 22.0, 22.5. Any thoughts on this…..weird that soooo many had no sign of pressure! My plan is to load at 21.8, and see what variation I see.

What should I be doing?

Cool rig!

I'm tagging @Swamplord in this as I'm pretty sure he runs a .30-30 or .30 herret contender with Barnes 120 tac tx.

Picture for attention!

I have had good luck with 25 to 26 grains of IMR 4198 shooting 125 or 130 grain bullets. I took a mule deer doe at 185 yards a several years back. I don't remember if I was shooting a Sierra 125 grain HP or a Hornady SSP bullet. She just buckled up her legs and dropped. I like the 30 Herrett.
