From today's NRA email:

Just before midnight on Tuesday, January 28th, the Senate State, Veterans, & Military Affairs Committee passed Senate Bill 25-003, the all-encompassing ban on semi-automatic firearms, by a margin of 3-2. The ban now advances to the full senate floor for consideration.

We encourage you to contact your Senator NOW by using the TAKE ACTION button below and to contact Governor Polis' office at (303) 866-2471 or by email at [email protected]. Use your voice to oppose this unconstitutional bill and prevent it from advancing any further!
SB 25-003 also creates a new definition for "rapid-fire device" and classifies rapid-fire devices as dangerous weapons, which are already prohibited under existing state law.

Let me guess, the three who voted for it are hard core liberal democrats. Email will be out today to our …wipe govenor, our senator over here is Bennet, another …wipe democrat, we'll see if he's as bi partisan as he claims in his political adds.

Have to try, but it is hard to watch the direction our wonderful state is going. These people are like a cancer that spreads from state to state.

No doubt, there was a time I never thought we would go this direction. On a positive side note, our state senator representing mesa and delta counties is Janice Rich, a republican born in Texas. I can guarantee you she will not go for this, but none the less, she'll get an email from me.

Sadly, this very same type of thing is playing out in many different formerly freedom loving rocky mountain states. It often boils down to left leaning population centers influencing policy decisions for the rest of the less populated and often right leaning parts of the state. I grew up in OR during the mid to late 60s (yes, I'm old) and the policies then were much different than they are today with places like Portland, Salem and Eugene now in control. Now living in MT I see hints of the same things taking place in this state. Fortunately, the total population of MT is just over a million and there are enough sane people in outlying areas to counteract the nonsense coming out of Bozangles and Missoula.
