Colorado GMU 41, 3rd Rifle...any suggestions for a first timer?

Myself and 3 buddies are heading to GMU 41 in Colorado for 3rd Rifle Season. 3 of us have never been Elk hunting.

Anyone been in that GMU?

Also, any advice/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Have not hunted that unit, but a little to the south. Was told 1st season has some local elk, then they get educated and you usually needing to have some help from migration. So depends on the weather. Hope it gets cooler/cold. Get as far away from roads as possible. Buddy from Rifle says it usually takes him 3 days to find them, a day to watch them, then make a move. I've been close during archery more than during 3rd rifle so far. Put some miles on. Good luck
