Are the new Christians arms guns any good ?
I've heard the older ones had accuracy issues ?
And hear there biulding there own actions.
Or is all that bs? I know I can't believe evry thing on the Internet.
I'm toying with the idea of getting a light wheight rifle biult or is a Christian the way to go??
I'm tyred of packing 10 to 13 lb guns around.
I just bought a winchester model 70 extreme weather 264 win mag and the gun is a ***.
I love the caliber but the gun is going down the road .
Or what about putting a proof research barrel on my old m77 long action ? Are those any good I've read mixed reviews I need real world experience and help.

Define "good". They are good enough to take game past 1000 yards, one shot with copper bullets.
The one I load for is absolutely a modified R700.

They are indeed light.
The break works very well.

Get a 300RUM, that is the signature model.

What i mean (good)
Are they worth 2600$
The winchester I bought was not worth 1250$
I could have bought 2 savage rifles for that and had better quality.
And I've had issues with the remlins.

Are they worth it or have a lightweight one biult??
And I don't want a rum.
I'm sticking with a 300 win.
Because I have alot of casings and there easy to find
300rum are overpriced and hard to find.

If you can get a new one for $2600 for a carbon barrel do it and resell it for a profit.
I would spend $2600 on a Christensen Arms carbon barrel in a heart beat. More even.

For my buddy, yes it's work having. For you, I don't know, only you do.

RUM vs WM, everything is relative.

there is a possibility they are now building their own actions as the pictures show a very different action.

I wouldnt say their old barrels had accuracy issues. The old Remington 700 VS Composite used a Christiansen barrel, and they were insanely accurate, and more sought-after than any other factoy gun I've ever seen.

If I could find one in .308 today, I would sell one of my offroad trucks just to buy it...Because I spent years drooling over them in the gun store but they were all ffl transfers that one of our prominent customers kept buying them up like hotcakes, so I never got the chance to own one. I also got to shoot one at the range one day...It was the most awesome shooting gun I've ever shot.

I have a custom with a Proof Research barrel and it shoots good. I don't think it is worth the money though to save just a few ounces on a rifle that is not dedicated as a light weight. I am having another being built, but it will carry a steel tube.

Muddy, those were catalogued in stw for a bit years back.... food for thought... I was going to spring for one but my sendero was shooting too well to send down river.

As to the Christiansen arms rifles, I don't know them personally but the lgs sells a few and they never come back.

You're talking about the Sendero Composite.....I had forgotten they made those until you brought it up. Thanks for jogging the old memory along. I can't even find a picture of one of those on the internet... I would absolutely LOVE to have one of those in 7mm RM or 7mm STW.

So far I am not displeased with mine. I have a Carbon Classic in 338 Lapua and I'm in love.

I'm still working on the load for it, but I'm also being a stickler about it. It does shoot sub MOA, but I'm looking for 3/4 or better consistently, and I think it may be a seating depth issue.

It's been my hunting rifle all season, and I can attest to its durability. One long elk hunt getting thrown around, and a week of deer hunting. Somehow I keep finding a way to knock this thing around and bump it into stuff.

Haven't tried an ELR shot yet, but up to 1,000 I've been satisfied.

I would say don't be afraid. I know I talked to the guys at Christensen before I bought mine to get the skinny on them because I've read the same things that you have, and they assured me that they would work with me in dealing with any issue that may develop. And mine was more than $2600.

Look at it as an investment that will not deteriorate in value if setup right. I know mine isn't on the market, but the total package isn't going to leave my ownership for less than $6500.

Good luck to you

Thanks for responding. .and that's good to hear.
Now it's just save my pennies.

They do make their own actions now. They are nice rifles but I do not like the detachable mag box the new ones have. They rattle around. Everyone I've picked up was the same. Also, when i called them they recommend the 300 rum over everything because they have the most experience with it..if I could get one without the mag box and with an accuracy guarantee i would buy one.

That's good to know. Gun store guy said they didn't. A high end rifle like they make needs to have one.
