Ok I have a prefit savage barrel bighorn origin action, and a altitude stock. The barrel nut is just barely not clearing the stock. What is the process for sanding a carbon stock? Do I need to seal the stock once I'm done? Also how much clearance do I really need?

Dremel tool works fine, I put blue painters tape on the surrounding stock in case the tool get away. Put the barreled action in the stock and scribe a line on the stock of the outline of the nut so you know how material to remove, a couple sheets of paper is fine. The shell is hard but the filler material is soft and goes fast. No need to seal it but you can if you want to match the shell color.
