can furgeson be beat?

I have heard about james furgerson's 30-378 habenaro. i want to build close to the same rifle, is he doing something special with ammo or the gun its self? I think i can build that rifle cheaper than $5500. and if i have to i can order the ammo from him. just wondering if you all know anything about this rifle or round or what he does that is so special? Can i use a diffrent action other than the weatherby? thanks for the help.

I would say the 30-378 is more overbore than I am willing to do for barrel life and performance.
I think you would be happier with alittle less velocity in a 30cal, say a 30-338 Lapua , or 300 JAZZ.
