I was drawn in my company lottery for a N.E california landowner bull tag.
I have hunted elk in Arizona for many of my years there, cow tags on my part.
but learned a thing or two about bull hunting.
I am looking for any specific advise on N.E. cal elk, will have the run of all S.P.I
land within that unit.
My thought is that Rocky Mtn elk are what the are and should have the same habits, behaviors regardless of where they live. Correct?
I can no longer afford to put in for elk tags so this is a golden Op. for me and would like all the advise I can get.
rifle/load are ready to rock, 7mm RUM, 160 gr Barnes MRX. prints 1/2 min. on my good days.
Thanks.

Excellent choice on the caliber and pill and will definitely do the job!

The difference between the AZ and CA elk is that one is liberal and fruity

... sorry couldn't resist :rolleyes::D:cool:.

Good luck and happy safe hunting.

You need to get intouch with the SPI forester from Burney Ca. he should be able to help you. Alot of big bulls on SPI land around Burney. Only being able to hunt SPI land will make it a little bit harder. There are some huge bulls in this unit. Three locals I know have drawn this in the last two years. The bulls they killed were between 365-387. Hope this helps
