I just got home from a deer hunting trip in MT. we had a great time and all got our deer. Being our first year we went into the hunt not expecting much as it would be a much different hunt than we normally do. Mostly a learning hunt for future trips

One of the things we came away with was we need bigger better optics. We knew this before going but chose to hold off until after the hunt to see how our current gear worked.

I'm now looking at 15x Binoculars. I've narrowed the search down to a few and am really leaning on the Cabelas 15x56. Now we all know the Meopta glasses are the same and from what I can see online they are slightly more $
Doe they go on sale at Cabelas ever?
how do the warranty and custom service compare between Cabelas and Meopta?

If I buy from Cabelas the plan is to compare them next to my buds new Leupolds. If I don't think they are as good or better then I can take them back since Cabelas is within walking distance of my work.

any other opinions on these glasses? Ive looked at Vortex and compared them with the Leupolds and they didn't stack up. I'm just a little hesitant to jump on Swaro because of the big price difference.

Cabelas's does put them on sale periodically and about once a month they also do club member 10% off sales online

The Nikon 16x56 had better color than my Swaro 15x56, same clarity, but were slightly dimmer only at the last ~5 minutes of light, but are about ~1/4 the price. They also make a 20x56 model and I have to say they are suprisingly good for the price. I will probably get a pair of the 20x soon. I had 10x, 12x, 15x, & 16x but thinned the herd to a pair of EL12x as my all around pair, but sure could have useed those 20x on a tripod earlier this season.

Check out the Leicas they are $999 at Cabela's or about anywhere maybe consider the range finding Bono's too from Leica they are nice and there rangefinders are the best. They do run sales here and there in them too.

Well I used them all and swaros are still on top they are worth the extra $$ if you glass a lot.

The 15x liecas with the range finger for 2k might be a good option if you need a range finder.

With optics as you increase in power the quality's of glass really starts to show up. And plan on getting a quality tripod, 15X with out a tripod aren't much good.

Thanks for the replies.
I do have a good rangefinder. I'm running the Kilo 2200MR

I'm really wanting to stay with a single purpose set of glasses and do realize I will need a tripod and adapter.
Already got that cover along with a decent spotter.
I'm running a pair of Vortex 10x Razors for my general set of binos and this was the first trip with them. They did great but in open country I definitely need a little more horse power.

I'll be keeping an eye on Cabelas for that sale. I'm not in a big hurry for them.
I really curious if any one has an opinion on where to buy them Meopta or cabelas when it comes to warranty issues. I'm leaning towards Cabelas just because I can take them back to the store so easy.

. I highly recommend NOT getting Cabela's brand equipment because when Bass pro bought them out they took away Cabela's lifetime warranty and replaced it with a 90 day warranty!!! Ask me how I know. I lost a lot of money because of them taking away their lifetime warranty. I bought a Cabela's brand scope a year or two ago and it went bad, well, guess what they wouldn't give my money back!! I will not buy Cabela's brand stuff unless they get their warranty back!!!!!! :(:mad::mad::mad:

Ya I haven't seen any benefits for the consumer with the bass pro buy out. But here in Boise if you need something they have you over a barrel.

I'm gonna have to double check on the Cabelas warranty but I'm sure they told me lifetime warranty on these glasses. Would have been recently that I spent some time looking at them in the store.
I had never heard of this Meopta brand until the sales rep pulled them out and had me check them out. Ever since then I've done a lot of research on them and now in my top 3 pick.
