I thought you guys would like to hear about an experience I had with Bushnell Optics. I bought a ET4305 Tactical 4.5-30x50 scope through Planet Optics. Bushnell's website claimed this scope to have 90 MOA of elevation adjustment. It physically only had 80 MOA when I received it.

The following is the email correspondence I had with Cliff Hill of Bushnell...

I today (3-21-13) received my scope from Planet Optics. I bought this scope because it is supposed to have 90 MOA of vertical turret adjustment. A check on it physically only gave 80 MOA stop to stop. This needs to be corrected by your company. I do NOT want this new scope repaired. I want another new scope that has been verified at your factory to actually have 90 MOA of vertical adjustment. Please advise me on what will be done with my situation. Randy

Randy,
I sorry that your are disappointed in your new ET4305 rifle scope. What is puzzling to me is your reference to 90 MOA of adjustment. According to the Optics Planet web site the ET4305 has 50 MOA of adjustment. In a previous product catalog I did find a listing for 70 MOA of adjustment range for a older model but cannot find 90 MOA listed anywhere for that family of 4.5-30x50 scopes. Since the scope you have meets the published specifications I do not quite know what to offer you. If you requirements are for 90 MOA of adjustment range we will of course be glad to help you select a scope. Let me know how we can assist you.

After I received this email, I immediately called Cliff to inform him of Bushnell's claim of 90 MOA with this scope as listed on their website. When he looked at his own website, he was dumbfounded. It indeed was listed as 90 MOA. He told me he would get back to me. This was on a Friday. The following Monday, this was Cliff's response to the situation...

Randy,
I've received confirmation that the ET4305 has 70 MOA of elevation adjustment, our new ET45305GZ has 103" at 100 yds., or 103 MOA. So the new scope will meet your requirement of 90 MOA. Here is the solution I've worked up for you to get an ET45305GZ directly from us. Return the ET4305 for a refund, either to us via the Bulletproof Guarentee or Optics Planet. Then I will sell you the new scope for the amount of the refund you receive and waive the shipping and handling charges. If the Optics Planet website is accurate you should have paid about $775 or so for what you have in hand now. That about half of dealer cost on the new scope by the way.
The timing of the refund vs the purchase of the new scope is immaterial to us. If you want to purchase the new scope now and wait for a refund on the current one that is fine. Just let me know how you would like to proceed. One last thought, the new scope has 34mm rings so I will also help with the purchase of a new set of tactical rings.
I will be out of the office and unavailable from March 27th through April 4th. If you need to start the process before that Jacob Loper is aware of this offer and is also willing to help.
Thanks,

WOW is all I can say! What an incredible way to treat a customer. I really want to thank Cliff Hill and the Bushnell company for the way my situation was handled.:)

optics planet is good to deal with. Bushnell not so much. Im glad you were happy with the way they treated you. Im still walking funny from my last dealings with them.

I just completed the deal with Cliff today. I got the ET45305GZ 4.5-30x50mm scope for $778! This scope has a 34 millimeter tube, front focal plane, locking turrets, zero stop and G2 retical. It's similar to a horus retical. it's nice when something goes your way once in awhile.
