I own two BD 6-24 and I was just wondering what exactly am I missing out on from the higher end scopes
I have only ever used Nikon and Burris optics, Ive shot rifles with VX III's and I like my BD better.
The only reason I ask is because I am in the market for a new scope for a new rifle I am having built for med-long range (300-900yards) varmints.
The local gun store told me that if you buy a leupold you are paying for the name?

Any advice/opinions appreciated.

If you buy any scope your buying the name.

Some people have to have the most expensive scope made but even though
they cost twice as much they are not twice as good !!!

Burris makes very good scopes and are well worth the money and leupold does to

I use both for different reasons as do most people.

If you like Burris stay with them ,there are a lot of good scopes to chose from that
start at around $300.oo and go up to $3,000.oo but I think after you reach around
$1,500.oo your just about as good as you can get.

Cheep scopes (Under $300.oo) usualy dont hold up to good under recoil so avoid them
if you can.

Just my 2 cent,s
