Know where you are coming from. got a grandson that married a actively screaming liberal socialist! My 7 year old great grandson by this union called my wife a B*tch when we were up in Washington in August, for her telling him not to throw the sofa pillows in the house after he knocked over a lamp. I grabbed him and told him to apologize and he said, "I don't have to"
I simply walked him out to his mom's car, put him in it and told him if he got out of the car, I was going to blister his butt. Wouldn't have done it because of state laws, but I think he got the message. His mother came screaming in about 5 minutes later and I told her straight out, either you discipline him, wash his mouth out with soap or take him home, NOW! They live in an adjoining state and ended up leaving when I wouldn't back down.
I found out my son and all the other kids had been putting up with this kind of crap for the last 9 years and her socialist propagandizing in order to keep peace in the family. When my grandson called on my Cell phone the next day, I told him in no uncertain terms that we were not putting up with her and her idea of raising kids or the Socialist propaganda anymore , so it was probably best if they just stayed in their own state. Either that or he needed to grow a pair and start disciplining the kids in some way shape or form since they were a massive PIA to the rest of the family and no one was enjoying being around them and that her idea of an idealistic lifestyle was against everything we believed it.
Then went in and apologized to my son since it was really his house.
I heard later that there was a major family blowup in Oregon that evening. Will just have to wait and see. Poor boy probably didn't get any that night!
You can't accomodate or ignore these people, you have to draw the line and stand by it.
