A 150 grain 0.308 Accubond is just about 1.21 OAL which is just on the edge for me with twist.

The 150 grain SMK's look to be shorter ( from a website picture they look about 1.18+-), does anyone know what their length actually is?

Thanks,

edge.

hahaha awesome.
What are you shooting thouse out of? .458 win Mag? what kind of velocities?
I'd be interested to hear how they shoot, i tryed some .30/.224 sabots a while back and had trouble getting groups constistantly under 4" at 50y.

Savage project rifle. Started life as an'06, and is now a .458 muzzleloader.

Top 3 group are 150 grain bullet,
Bottom 2 are 165 grain. Both groups are using 70 grains N120 and the sabots weigh 42 grains. ( 100 yards)

Muzzle flash is much less with the 165 (207 gr. total weight) verses the 150 grain bullet so I suspect that I need a faster powder.

I have not chronographed them, but suspect 2900-3000 fps.

A day late and a dollar short, BUT, how about the 155 grain A-Max length?

Sorry,

edge.
