Building a 300PRC to shoot 215 Hybrid?

I ordered a stock for my next build and I specified Hawkins BDL Obendorf bottom metal. Now I'm second guessing it. With a SAAMI chamber, will I be able to fit a bullet in the magazine that is loaded close to touching the lands? What do I do to achieve that? Wyatt's? I am sure I have time to make changes I'm just not sure if I need to.

The 30 Nosler is a better designed case. The SAAMI throat is much better in the 300 PRC. If I were building a custom rifle and I would go 30 Nosler and have in throated appropriately or get my own reamer made. If I were going to shoot a factory rifle all else being equal I would rather have a 300PRC.

Yeah I went back and forth. Decided on the PRC because I suspect I'll be able to find more ammo on the shelf if the need ever arises on remote hunt. Also ADG is going to be making brass for it, maybe others. It was a hard decision.

300 PRC has an overall length of 3.7000. All recommedations for detachable mag bottom metal call for a CIP length magazine (3.850"). For non-CIP detachable mags, apparently 3.60" catridge overall length is the limit (based on quotes I've seen). Take a look at the 30 Nosler. I'm not sure what the coal is and I'm running a 3.850 wyatts but it easily fits.

This picture shows a 215 seated .030 off the lands giving me room for about 84-85 grains of H1k.

I've heard many talk about its short sammi throat but it looks about perfect for the 215 imo. Additionally the 200 Nos AB rides about the same when pushed to the lands.

Here's a 200 accubond loaded at -.010 off the lands. Going out to run a ladder test in the morning. The AB takes up a hair more powder space but still has space for 83-84 grains of H1k.

The berger above has a COAL of 3.546.

Don't stress. I loaded some 300rum 215s and 210s at mag length of 3.650 for,friends that wanted mag length and they shot fine. I prefer to seat near lands, but some rifles do not care.
