I found some of my dads reloads. 180gr brass tip 30.06.
Anybody use them? Know some history?

these are Remington bronze tip bullets . my Dad has a few boxes of Remington factory ammo that was loaded with these . I'm going to guess these are from the 1960's . I started to hunt 1974 and this ammo was in Dad , and Grandpaps , ammo case back then . if my memory is correct, these were in green with red strip remington boxes said something about kleen bore priming .
 
The bronze tip was in place to initiate expansion, it was shaped like an arrowhead, with the wedge being inside the bullet. I used to shoot them out of my Ruger 77R in .270 Win. They were very accurate, but ineffective on deer.
