I just bought an AMS reel and searched my local classifieds for a bow. You can find a nice 40-50 lb bow for next to nothing. I got an old Jensen bow for $15, aluminum riser and fiberglass limbs and nearly new strings. Stuck my reel and a rest on it, good to go. I want to find an aluminum riser recurve bow to set up for bowfishing next, I prefer traditional bows for the quick instinctive shots taken for bowfishing.
