Nice, straight grain stock. Clean with good bedding job.

The Varmint Special had a 24 inch bull barrel on them, close to around 0.820 at the muzzle, which is a bit larger than a regular varmint contour. My dad used to have one, they're a tank to pack around but they always shot really well.
There is some confusion regarding the actual Remington contour but it should represent the Remington Varmint being 0.820 (.830) at the muzzle. If confused, call your barrel supplier to ask, every maker has different ideas.
