Boats $$$$ 🤬🤬🤬

Good looking boat and she shows your care. She will fix and take you out for another couple decades if you want. I get it Muddy, the kick in the butt right at fishing time is the worst. There are times as you know it's just bum luck and a tiny little flaw or error can turn into a big one. Your shop will make it right, and probably let you be there to see the problem. I run outboards with only 800 on my big and about 8000 on my kicker. Stuff wears and even though it should last they don't sometimes. Just have another conversation with her, and every lady loves how they look and feel after a good wash and wax. I believe she will take you right to the best school first time back out. Cant wait to see some shiny slabs on her deck!
Nice boat , I haven't ever been without a boat , the biggest problem with a boat is when they sit, use them maintain them and you won't loose them . I love my boats . Another plus of owning a boat is thieves figure if you fish , you probably hunt and go too the next house so they don't stand such a chance of getting shot.

A friend told me that the best part of owning a boat is when you get rid of it.
LOL.....trying to fight back brother. Some of us just have it in our blood. I have owned one boat or another for 37 years and the best part is not buying or selling it for me. If your a non boat guy...they are a lot of work especially if in the salt. The best part is using it and just getting away from people and seeing new places. You also don't get to catch fish like this from the shore very often. You sure can just not as easily or as often. The biggest sturgeon we have caught is only 11', and very few places have enough shoreline to land one and they usually take a boat to get to the area.

So I got my old rig summerized early April, 1989 Penn Yan 212 that has been zero problem until last year. I had impeller go in April last year but when marina pulled outdrive, oil had leaked into bellows, so ended up telling them to replace everything as maintenance precaution. Including fixing power trim sending unit.

So marina started up and ran perfect. I launched, was trolling for about 25 min and 🤬🤬🤬, noticed temp climbing fast. So pulled lines, throttled up and temp went down so impeller again! So only one year on impeller which is really short. Then the up on power trim stopped working!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬

So ordered 2 kits to have extra for next spring. Going to take apart the power trim limit switch to see if there is grease in it which can happen and interfere.

34th season I have owned this boat so I keep it well maintained but I hope this is not indicator of its future! So I am now prob down for couple weeks until I get impeller replaced. Prime coho trolling and down for a while.🤬
You could do it yourself without much of a problem at all, I have done many outboard's and inboard outboard's

Have 2 kits coming and hopefully will get it done over weekend. The biggest issue is I need help from son since my back would not like trying to manhandle the lower unit lining it back up to the splines. I will be working on the power trim tomorrow unless I decide to shoot my .357 Max with Hammer 140SH! Working on ladder with N110 which I think will give bit more juice than Lil Gun. So work on boat or play?🤔

I'd say fix the boat, or I may never be invited for smoked salmon,:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Boats and freedom on the water are addicting. I bought my first boat in 1973 and never regretted it. I still own 2 boats to this day. Selling out is not an option after your years of ownership. Can't prove it but i believe technicians if parts look ok they will charge a replacement price but never replace it. Last time i had a boat in the shop 5 years ago for electronic ignition replacement. Technician said it ran good. But i found out at ramp, it would not crank. Immediately took it to marina then. Told the owner that i wanted to hear it run before leaving with it. He agreed. The component was never replaced,, which he found out and terminated the technician. Losing trust in people for saying they did something and not going thru with the repair order. At least the owner of the marina was honest.
