17 Hornet haven't a clue where the bullet hole is, I was about 4 inches from the elbow right and about 4 inches high. He dropped like a bolt of lightning hit him.
Shot him at night with the coyote light and retrieved him about 8 am next day.

Very nice....I was always surprised how the 17 Rem just collapsed them. The Hornet is a great cartridge....and it really would shine with a 17 lightening bolt.

Sold the whole coyote to a guy near me who's a buckskinner, he''ll do his thing with it and sell it at their rendezvous gatherings. He uses the pelt, teeth, and skull. He gave me $50 for this one and would take several more of similar condition if I can get them.Real cold snap here now which gets predators moving.

I'm loving it so far, virtually impossible to find an entrance hole unless skinned, but something happens when I pull the trigger.

I've seen some amazing shots on coyotes with 17 hmr but I feel it's on the small side where the hornet has enough more speed to be devastating as ohlongarm will testify
