Best way to ship a rifle?

When you guys ship a rifle what is the best way to package it? Do you use a good hardcase, a cheap hard case? I have to ship my complete rifle to a gunsmith.

I use a hard case in a cardboard box. If it's sold and not coming back a cheap one works fine. If it was a rifle I plan to get back use a good one for the round trip.

Ok it is a good custom rifle I'm getting back. Now how do you find a box that the case will fit in? I was thinking of getting a pelican vault case.

Use the box the case ships in I have. Or see if a local store will sell or give you one?
I order boxes online but it takes a while and they have a minimum order..
25 boxes to ship one rifle doesn't work...
