Best scope under 800

Got a call from a buddy that wants the best scope for 800 or less. He is pulling the trigger to buy one in 2 days. He plans to shoot long range at targets and shoot pigs and hogs under 300 yards.

Shooting a 7mm rem mag in a rem 783.

Suggestions?

Leupold vx5hd 3-15x44mm, with impact 29 moa reticle. That is what I got mine for. I got mine at the big supply shop for $780. It retals for $1000. Love mine.

3X15 42mm ffp made by SWFA would fit that bill perfectly. Flawless tracking with a nice reticle. The normally go for $600.00
