I recently inherited a Browning BAR in 300 Win that was topped with a straight 4 power Leupold scope. The current bases will not support a 40mm objective lens so I'm looking to upgrade. I could easily swap out the rings and keep the one piece Leupold base but I'm not sure that is the wisest option. Could I get advice on the best bases that would fit the BAR? I will be topping the rifle with a Weaver Grand Slam 1" tube with a 40mm AO objective lens. Thank you for the advice,
