berger thicks for hunting

hey, has anybody tried using the thicks for hunting? The reason being that my supplier ordered the target instead of the hunting vld's (partially my fault). The order being fairly large is going to take some time to get refilled. Things are starting to cool down now and am itchin to get out to the range. I know that Sierra uses a thicker jacket on thier match bullets and have not had an animal walk away with using them. So brings up the question can you get them to open up in medium sized game at extended ranges.
