I have been interested in trying to load some Berger Hunting Bullets, but I have seen in a couple of places that they don't fit in most magazines. Has anyone had this problem because of seating depth?

I haven't ordered any yet for fear of not being able to use them. Anyone else had this problem?

Does Berger send out testers?

Thanks,
Shane

I have no problems fitting 168 bergers in my 7mm mag magazine. I know others do have problems though. It may or may not be a problem as if you are only using as a long range load you can feed them single shot without any problems.

I use 160 accubonds as my magazine load.

I too don't have any problems with my SAKO in .300 WM, i.e, OAL base to tip calls for 3.34" per reloading manual but I have mine at 3.62". I don't think Berger's send out testers but you can buy sampler lots here ...

Good luck!

Don't let magazine length keep you from trying these bullets. They will shoot when jumped. You just may have to play with different OAL's to find the sweet spot. I jump all of the Berger VLD Hunting bullets I shoot. My 7MM STW 180 VLD jumps .220". They are worth trying.

What cartridge? What rifle? How long is the magazine? It will depend to some extent on how the throat was cut in the rifle and whether or not you want them jammed into the lands.

I don't have any trouble fitting the 168BLD loaded for a 0.010" jam into the magazine on my Savage 112. That's the only rifle I've tried Berger bullets in so far.
