I'm using a Remington XP100R pistol, 7mm-08 with a 14.5" barrel. I've been using Hornady Superformance 139 grain SST and it patterns great at 200 yards, but am looking for something with more knock-down power out to 300 yards. I've read where the Berger 140 gr. Match Hunting VLD is both accurate and devastating. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them? I'm concerned because I get conflicting reports on the bullets expansion/shedding at both short and long distances and whether you hit a bone or not.

I have shot the 140VLD in http://www.longrangehunting.com/forums/f53/my-280-updated-32771/ . It sent them much faster that you will be able to though (2900+ I think). Killed just a few deer with them and it killed 'em just as dead as any other bullet.
